Miss F. Smith, Subject Leader: Dance, writes:
On Friday the 26th May, all Year 9 and 10 dance students took part in a Commercial Dance workshop led by Vivian Gayle. Vivian has worked with many well-known artists, such as DJ Fresh, Ellie Goulding, and Fuse ODG and has performed at events such as the Brit Awards and MOBO Awards. Our students took advantage of the opportunity to learn from a professional in the performing arts industry. The students approached the workshop enthusiastically, particularly considering the heat that day, and showed real determination with a style that was different to what many were used to.
The workshop consisted of learning technique sequences as well as set routines with challenging choreography and style. All students took part in a small performance of the routine in groups and impressed Vivian with their skill and efforts during the workshop. Vivian commented on our students’ talent and real potential in the style. Well done all.
A video of the routine has been uploaded to the PE Twitter page should you wish to have a look!
