Timetables for all instrumental and vocal timetables are distributed to all form rooms at the start of each term. Students can also find their timetable on the door of the room in which their lesson takes place, and they are published on www.stanboroughmusic.com .
Tuition is currently available on the following instruments:
- Flute, Saxophone
- French Horn, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba
- Drum Kit, Percussion
- Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar
- Voice (any style)
- Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
- Piano, Keyboard
Other instruments may be available with prior notice.
Tuition is possible for both beginners and more experienced students
Approximate fees for 11 lessons per term are as follows:
- 30 minutes shared tuition £115.50
- Individual 20 minute lessons £154.00
- Individual 30 minute lessons £231.00
Tuition takes place during normal school lesson time with students missing part of different lessons each week. Students are expected to catch up on any work missed.
Please note that it is not always viable to offer 30 minutes shared tuition (due to needing two students of a similar standard). Would you therefore please indicate on the application form whether you would be interested in 20 minutes individual tuition instead.
If you no longer wish your child to receive instrumental tuition after submitting an application and before a place has been allocated, we would appreciate a courtesy letter informing us of this as soon as possible in order for the place to be given to the next person on the waiting list.
You will not be contacted until a place is available. Due to the popularity of some instruments this may not be until the Summer Term.
As soon as a place is available an invoice for a term’s fees will be sent directly to you. Subsequent invoices will be sent at the end of the preceding term.
Fees are payable in advance at the beginning of each term. Prompt payment of fees is required.
In order that the system runs smoothly parents must give a half terms notice in writing of intention to cease lessons. If a student simply fails to attend lessons, parents may still receive an invoice for the following term. Written notice MUST be given in advance. If no written notice is given a half term’s fees will be payable in lieu of notice.
Further information is available in our Music Charging Policy available on the school website.
Insurance and Storage
Please ensure that instruments are clearly named and are easily identifiable. Locked rooms are available for storing instruments, but we advise you to add the instrument to your home contents insurance. There is the opportunity to purchase instruments at low-cost or to hire from the school. Please ask the Head of Music for further information.
There is an application enclosed. Please complete and return to the school office. Students will receive a timetable at the start of the term in which they will start their lessons.
