Talent Show 2017 1w

Chloe Dinnage, Head of School , writes:

On Friday 14th July, Stanborough saw seven acts from Years 7-9 take the stage and perform in the Talent Show. This event was organised and hosted by the Year 8 Leadership Academy, with the support of myself. Everyone took on different roles, from our judges (Callum Kirwan, Kian Burley, Amy-May Ashley and Freya Elsley), to the presenters (Millie Neighbour and Kelsey Couling), and the rest of the team, whether they were on the refreshment stall or being bouncers on the door. We had the fantastic Sound and Light Team there on the day to ensure everything ran smoothly, as well as Emily Bakewell from the Year 10 Leadership Academy, who overlooked the refreshments stall.

From entry payments and selling refreshments on the day, we raised £68.85 to go to our school chosen charity – Herts Young Homeless. Thank you to anyone who brought in food / drink for us to sell!

Now – what you’ve all been waiting for……

The winners were the “All Star” performers; Ben, Patryk, Aiden, and Janis in Year 8 (pictured), closely followed by a soloist dancer Amy Sharp in Year 7, and Connect 4 (Year 7 – Laura Wells, Morgan Sproat, Neve Mason) coming in 3rd place. Well done to everyone for taking part, it was a very, very close call – I didn’t envy the judges!

“Thank you to everyone who helped us in any way during the organisation and/or the execution of this event. I think it’s safe to say – Stanborough is full of talent!!

It was great seeing all the talent that Stanborough students have. My favourite one was Ben, Aiden, Janis and Patryk” – Callum Kirwan, 8H, Judge

“It was really nice to see the students come together and support one another and their incredible talents” – James Atkins, 12S, Audience
