Armed Forces Day – Fly the Flag
Mrs Wallis, HLTA and Deputy Year Leader: Y10 writes:
To show support for our military community both serving and retired, at home and aboard, the Council organised a Flag Raising ceremony and Stanborough School were lucky enough to be invited to attend with a small number of students.
The Mayor raised the Armed Forces Day Flag outside the Council Offices on Monday 24th June. Afterwards tea, coffee and light refreshments were served in the Foyer of the Council Chamber. We were than able to talk to the Mayor and enjoy sitting on ex-servicemen’s motorbikes.
We all really enjoyed the offer to sit on the motorbikes because they were really comfy and it was a once in a life time opportunity.
The students showed exemplar behaviour and were a credit to Stanborough School. Students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the event.
