Senior Leadership Team
I have an unshakable belief in every student, each with their own gifts, talents, challenges and aspirations. My team share an educational philosophy which promotes the highest expectations and consistent pastoral care. Our core aim is to nurture enquiring minds and to inspire our youngsters to pursue their dreams, leaving our school ready to excel in a future which has limitless possibilities.
I am a Mathematics graduate from Lancaster University. I have been educated in three countries; a secondary school experience in Nigeria, followed by A-Levels in India and a Mathematics degree in the UK. My educational experience in three countries has enabled me to appreciate various cultures and backgrounds but has also provided me with an insight into the positive differences in the education system in these countries. My principles, values and ethos as an educational leader have been shaped by these experiences.
I am a mother of three children and in my spare time, I enjoy long distance running and have taken part in a number of competitive races.
I’ve worked in education for over 20 years, starting out as a history teacher before taking on roles as Head of Year, Assistant Headteacher, and, for the past six years, Deputy Headteacher at Stanborough School, a role I feel truly privileged to hold. I studied Politics at the University of Warwick and spent three years working in industry before following my passion and retraining as a teacher. As a mother of two, I firmly believe in the power of education to change lives and open up opportunities. I’m deeply committed to making sure every young person, no matter their background or starting point, has access to the very best learning experiences and support to help them thrive.
I’m a highly dedicated educational leader with over 20 years of experience in education. Driven by a commitment to academic excellence, my focus is on enhancing comprehensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) delivery and fostering impactful learning environments. My expertise extends to managing Learning Quality Assurance processes while directly supporting staff effectiveness and subject standards within English, MFL, Drama and whole school Literacy initiatives.
Previously, I excelled as an Assistant Headteacher responsible for developing robust Teaching & Learning, CPD, and Appraisal systems in other local schools within the Chiltern Learning Trust. I have a genuine passion and commitment for developing staff through coaching, serving as the lead instructional coach for National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) and promoting evidence-based pedagogical practice. As a former Head of English & Standards Lead, I ensure my strategic focus is not just on systems, but on unlocking exceptional outcomes and successful life chances for every student.
After completing my Postgraduate degree at the University of East Anglia, I began my teaching career in a large secondary school in North London before joining Stanborough. From the moment I arrived, I knew I wanted to work in the community where I live, contributing to a school that is deeply committed to serving its local area.
Since then, it has been a privilege to be part of Stanborough’s journey of growth and achievement. The school has also become central to my family’s life, both of my children attended Stanborough, achieving exceptional results before continuing their studies at Cambridge and Newcastle Universities. My wife has also joined the school staff, and together we are proud to be part of a community that values excellence, inclusion, and opportunity for every student.
I grew up in a small town in Nottinghamshire and received my secondary education at a Catholic comprehensive school in Doncaster. I went on to complete an MA Honours degree in Philosophy and Biblical Studies at the University of Glasgow, where I also undertook my teacher training.
My teaching career began at Stanborough School in Hertfordshire in 1998, a considerable distance from both my hometown and Glasgow. I have been part of the Stanborough community ever since, growing both personally and professionally alongside the school. Over the years, I have taught a broad range of subjects, primarily within the Humanities and Social Sciences, and have held a variety of leadership roles. I have served as an Assistant Headteacher since 2008.
I am deeply committed to education because I believe children matter, their dreams, their voices, and their futures are worth every lesson, every moment, and every effort.
Outside of work, I am a parent to three wonderful children, an avid reader, and I enjoy Spin classes to stay active.
Having joined the school in 2007 as a Year Leader and teacher of English, I have had the privilege of undertaking a range of leadership roles over the years. In addition to this, the time I have spent here has allowed me to see the school change, develop and shape into the thriving and exciting hub for academic and personal success that it is today, where students really are encouraged to not only meet but exceed their potential.
My passion really lies in the school’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the very best in terms of teaching and learning innovation and approaches, which includes supporting our dedicated and enthusiastic teaching and support staff to have access to the very best professional development.
Stanborough isn’t just a community, it is a family. I feel very lucky to have been part of the amazing changes and developments that have taken place. The future is a very exciting one for our school and I look forward to continuing to work with our students, families, staff and the community to not only grow and improve even more ourselves but to lead the way and support other school communities to do the same.
I joined Stanborough School in 2006 as a newly qualified teacher within the Mathematics Faculty. Although I obtained my first degree in Electrical Engineering from India and later completed a Masters Degree in Information Systems in Scotland, several visits to schools in Hertfordshire prompted me to reconsider my career path. I became committed to contributing to the academic and personal development of young people during their formative years, aiding them in overcoming challenges and inspiring a lifelong passion for learning. Consequently, I undertook the PGCE course at the University of Hertfordshire.
During my tenure at Stanborough School as a Mathematics teacher, I have also assumed the role of leading Key Stage 4 in the Mathematics Faculty and more recently, served as the Curriculum Leader. I was honoured to be appointed as an Assistant Headteacher of Stanborough School in June 2025, a role that will afford me further opportunities to enhance the culture and ethos of our school.
I have two children, one of whom is a student at Stanborough. In my free time, I enjoy walking, cooking, watching films, and listening to music.
I joined Stanborough School in September 2025 as an Assistant Headteacher with a particular focus on developing Oracy as well as supporting Year 10 and raising standards in the teaching and learning of English. With 23 years of teaching experience, I am devoted to supporting and enabling all children to succeed and realise their potential through the transformative nature of education. Indeed, being a mother of two boys, the youngest born with a disability, I understand the importance of education both at home and at school and how the possibilities of achievement are endless regardless of an individual’s starting point.
I am an English Literature and Language Graduate from King’s College London and believe that my passion for my subject is an intrinsic element of my teaching as I foster a love of reading, academic writing, critical thinking and discussion.
I am excited to join Stanborough as I fully believe in the school’s vision. I look forward to supporting the students to succeed through having ambitious expectations both academically and personally and to develop them to have the potential to make a positive impact and valued contribution to the school and wider community.
I have been the School Business Manager at Stanborough School since 2012, joining just after the school moved to being an academy.
My responsibilities include managing the school’s finances, including generating additional income, and premises matters – both of which are closely linked to enable me to provide students with the best possible environment for learning and for social break times.
I trained as a teacher at Brunel University before beginning my career in 2000, teaching PE in a large secondary school. I have been a SENDCo since 2017 after completing the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination. I have supported students with a wide range of needs and have helped to create inclusive learning environments where every young person can thrive.
I joined Stanborough School in January 2024 and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the school community. As both a SENDCo and a parent whose own child attends the school, I value the strong relationships between home and school and understand the importance of ensuring that every student feels supported, understood and able to succeed.
I am passionate about inclusion and believe that through thoughtful adaptation and high expectations all students can achieve their potential. I am committed to working collaboratively with students, families and staff to remove barriers to learning to enable every child to flourish.
My vocation to teach was uncovered whilst studying Sociology as an undergraduate. I was shocked when I discovered the realities of educational disadvantage through my studies – and therefore felt a sense of moral purpose to train to become a teacher of Social Sciences and History, upon graduating. My journey as an educator took me to teach for just under a decade in the London Borough of Hackney. Here I discovered that purpose and commitment to education and teaching, could in fact transform the lives of young people for the greater good of the world.
My continued journey from Hackney to Hertfordshire, has been orientated in a deep motivation to serve young people in my greatest capacity, as a teacher and leader. It has been inspiring for me to work within a new school community in my dream role as a Head of Sixth Form, and as a seconded member of the Senior Leadership Team. I also have a Distinction class MSc in Education, Power and Social Change from Birkbeck University.
I completed my university studies in Sheffield, where I earned my degree in Mathematics followed by my qualified teacher status qualification. I joined Stanborough School in 2014 as a newly qualified teacher and have since been proud to develop my career within this vibrant and supportive community.
Over the years, I have held several roles including Key Stage 3 Lead for Mathematics and Deputy Year Leader, and I have served as a Year Leader for the past eight years. These roles have deepened my commitment to student progress and pastoral care.
This year, I am excited to take on an additional role as part of the Senior Leadership Team on secondment. I am passionate about contributing to the continued development of the school and supporting both staff and students to thrive.
