FOSS
FOSS, short for Friends of Stanborough School, is Stanborough’s PTA.
FOSS is a registered charity and its aims are to:
- foster more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school
- undertake activities that support the school and advance the education of the students attending it
- help provide school facilities or educational items that can’t be provided from school funds
Regular Donations
FOSS urges whoever can afford to do so to consider making a regular monthly contribution to FOSS. Every regular donation can make a big difference and your children will benefit from the enhanced educational resources your donation will provide.

Remember, too, that you can make donations to FOSS at no cost to yourself by taking advantage of EasyFundraising for all your online shopping, including insurance renewals.
Whenever you shop with over 2,400 well-known retailers like John Lewis, Sainsburys, Halfords, Lakeland or M&S, they will donate a percentage of what you spend to us, completely FREE
EasyFundraising has a browser plug-in that prompts you every time to visit a participating retailer’s web site. To activate this, you must have an EasyFundraising account. If you don’t, go to easyfundraising.org.uk and follow the instructions to create an account. When you’re asked to nominate a good cause, search for Friends of Stanborough School (FOSS). As soon as you have done this, you’ll be invited to Get the Donation Reminder. Click on the option and you’re away.
If you already have an EasyFundraising account, log on and review your preferences to make sure your chosen good cause is FOSS! Next, click on the Donation Reminder option on the menu bar. Click the Get the Donation Reminder button and you’re ready to go.
Amazon Smile
Amazon Smile is Amazon’s charitable donation feature, its own version of EasyFundraising. By registering for Amazon Smile, a proportion of your purchase will come to FOSS at no cost to you.
The URL for Amazon Smile is slightly different from the usual Amazon URL, so you will need to update the bookmark in your browser. To link your account to FOSS, log onto https://smile.amazon.co.uk/ and immediately a pop-up will appear inviting you to participate. Click through this and you’ll be asked to nominate your chosen charity. Type Friends of Stanborough School and click the Search button. On the next screen, you’ll be asked to select Friends of Stanborough School.
Remember, you need to change your usual Amazon bookmark to https://smile.amazon.co.uk and all purchases you make via that URL from now on will benefit FOSS.
So what do we spend the money on?
In recent years funds have been provided for kitchen equipment for Compass, model skeleton & torso for Science, table tennis tables, T-shirts for the Sound and Light Team, tables & trolley for hall functions, French & Spanish dictionaries, comfort blankets for Compass, Geography books, Biology incubator and micro-pipettes, 5 x Amazon Fire 7 tablets and digital camera for SEN, A2 bulk paper cutter, weather thermometers & anemometers, plus contributions towards scanning pens for dyslexic students and towards curtains for the new Drama Studio.
