Sports Report 13th – 27th September 2018
County Representation
A huge congratulations to Corey Rodriguez (11Offley) who has been asked to join the County Under 18 football squad. The squad is around 18 in size so to be selected is a fantastic achievement. Students from all schools in the county are sent to the trial but very few are asked to join the squad and it is a big step up in standard, even more so as Corey is stepping up two age categories. This is a huge achievement for Corey and we wish him the best of luck in all of his fixtures and training. His first game will be next week against Essex in the FA Youth Cup.
District Representation
The following boys have all been selected to represent Mid Herts District football squad:
Year 8 – Ben Saunders and Toby Harvey
Year 9 – Ollie Guilar-Butler
Year 10 – Bailey Cripps, Michael Rodriguez, Jensen Read and Alex Khan
The students were selected out of dozens of footballers from the 12 schools in the district and it is a great achievement. The fixtures for the district matches have already started and will run until Christmas. Mid Herts will play the district teams from North Herts, Lea Valley, St Albans and Dacorum. Good luck boys!
There have been many training session and extra curriculum clubs which have started this term. Football training, netball training, badminton club, volleyball club, athletics club, running club, basketball and house dance rehearsals to name a few! These are run at lunchtimes and after school. Keep an eye out for the weekly PE notice in tutor rooms, the PE notice board in the sports hall, the school website and the Stanborough PE twitter @StanPE_dance
