Message from the Headteacher Mrs John
It was wonderful to meet the students who secured the new Headteacher commendation awards. A student from each of the Year groups will be selected to get this prestigious award on a weekly basis. Well done to our first award winners – Maggie Moylan (Yr.7), Keira Joyce (Yr.8), Abigail Cannon (Yr.9), Millie Neighbour (Yr.10), Ruth Morgan (Yr.11), Pia Joyce (Yr.12) and Tanya Enerst (Yr. 13).
It was wonderful to open our doors to a record number of Year 5 and 6 students and parents for last night’s Open Evening. Our students were true ambassadors to the school and talked so confidently about the journey they have been on here at Stanborough. I received many positive messages and emails from the families.
“Just wanted to say thank you for opening the doors of your school tonight to what I thought was a fantastic evening. Having been a teacher for 18 years, and being involved in many open evenings myself, I fully appreciate the amount of work and effort that you, your staff and pupils put in to running such an event. I was very impressed with the talks in the school hall and may I add how well all of the 4 pupils delivered their speeches. The choir were uplifting and it was lovely to see a range of age groups working collaboratively. The classrooms were a hive of activity and my daughter came away excited at the prospect of what she will be learning at Stanborough. The staff were very approachable and were keen to answer any questions I had. The pupils genuinely seemed to enjoy being at school and being part of the Stanborough community.”
Thank you once again to all our students for making the evening so special. Thank you also to our great speakers – Head Boy – Alex, Head Girl – Caitlin, Aimee, Ben, Poppy and Sam. I truly appreciated your support!
