Christmas Cheer 2018
Mrs V. Hargreaves, Year leader: Year 8, writes:
It was great to see the Applecroft Year 6s who were a bit “Footloose” and fancy free at our Christmas Cheer event on Monday 10th December and Lakeside students treated us to a wonderful rendition of Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It was wonderful to welcome these two schools from our Handside Partnership to join our Year 9 GCSE musicians in some festive music, entertaining grandparents and staff whilst they enjoyed an assortment of cakes and other refreshments. We finished off the event with a medley of well-known Christmas tunes, led by our talented music teacher, Mr Craig, and everyone enjoyed the sing-a-long. I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in organising this year’s event, especially our Year 13 hosts Alex Baxter, William Stringer and Joshua Wardle, who led a hilarious Christmas joke competition between performances as well as our other Heads of School – Margaret Del Ciampo, Caitlin Watts and Hannah Imafidon who ensured that everyone was welcomed and seated and all the members of the Year 9 Leadership Academy who did a fantastic job of ensuring that our guests were well looked after. We hope to see more grandparents at this event in the future, so look out for our Easter Cheer event in the Spring term and join us then!
