Ski Trip Aosta Italy 2018
Mr C. Minion, Ski Trip Organiser, writes:
On Saturday 31st March, 23 students and four staff waved goodbye to parents and left for Aosta, Italy.
After a smooth crossing and coach journey we arrived in lovely sunshine, and after a quick ski and boot fit took a little trip into the old historic town of Aosta to acclimatise to the surroundings.
The first day was lovely and sunny and the students were soon placed into their ski groups and away they went. Most of our group were beginners and the conditions and weather were just perfect for great skiing.
During the week we had heavy snow, glorious sunshine and fantastic conditions. The food in the hotel was great and just what we all needed to refuel after a long days skiing.
We had six days of skiing with five hours tuition a day and all the students coped brilliantly with this.
At the end of the week the instructors handed out certificates and awards for the students and said how amazing our students had been, making excellent progress and being the best beginners groups any of them had had.
After skiing each day, we took part in Apres Ski activities – these included tubing (sliding down a hill in massive rubber rings – a big favourite!) bowling, pizza night and a very funny ice skating session.
All students made fantastic progress over the course of the week. Many thanks to Mr Braybrook, Miss Bowen and Mr Harris for their hard work and efforts in making the trip so successful. Here’s to the next one!
