Paul Hannaford: Tackling Drugs, Changing Lives Talk

Mrs J. Vlijter, Assistant Headteacher, writes:

On Friday Paul Hannaford came into school to talk to all students during the day, and parents in the evening. He shared with us his life story, how he had been a  gang leader, in prison, a heroin addict. It was truly shocking, and not for the faint hearted! How he came to end up where he did, and how he turned it all round could not fail to hit all who heard. Paul has proved an inspiration to students. We hope they remember the message he brought for years to come.  Paul encourages young people to follow him on social media, and access his website for further information, and gory pictures of maggots!

Please see below just some of the hundreds of tweets from students and parents who heard him speak on Friday :

“Interesting talk period 5 today about how drugs can really ruin your life. Not going to lie, that was a roller coaster of a life story – got my mind whirring trying to guess what could happen next.”

“The best thing that has ever happened in my eyes, it was absolutely amazing thank you so much Paul, I hope one day you can come to the school again and tell us more! Thank you again Paul!”
