Gold
A Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award programme has five sections. Students need to spend 12 months on the Volunteering section. For Skills and Physical, they must choose which section they want to spend 12 months doing and which section six months.
They also will have to plan, train for and complete a four day (three nights) expedition. The difference for the Gold Award is the Residential section. Students need to stay away from home for five days and four nights doing a shared activity with people they have never met before.
