Blended Learning
As teachers and parents, we are also continuously looking at ways to equip our young people with the opportunities and tools to grow and shape their future.
To support this we will be building on the skills students developed in their online learning as we introduce our ‘Bring your own device’ (BYOD) programme and supplement it with a ‘1:1 Digital Device’ purchase scheme. From September 2022 it has been an expectation that all Year 7 students will attend school with a suitable device.
Through the links below, you will find all the information that you need about the BYOD programme and 1:1 Digital Device Purchase Scheme, which together fall under the umbrella term of Blended Learning. This simply means that as we move forwards into this new exciting stage of development in teaching and learning at Stanborough School, we will be using a blend of digital methods and traditional teaching methods to provide the highest standard of education.
Overview and support
This page gives you an overview of our use of laptops as an integral part of learning at Stanborough School.
Every student at Stanborough School is provided with a Microsoft account. Use of the school account is governed by an IT Acceptable Use Policy. To keep students safe while using this account we restrict the websites they can visit. This restriction is in place whenever they use their school account, whether in school or at home.
You can find tutorial videos and resources on the Stanborough School Blended Learning Support Site covering all the key Microsoft applications.
Getting a school scheme laptop repaired
Your school scheme laptop cannot be repaired at school and needs to be returned to Freedom Tech.
If your laptop isn’t working, we will provide a temporary laptop on a daily loan for you to use at school. You will need to sign for it and take good care of it until your own laptop has been repaired or replaced. You MUST return it at the end of each school day to the IT support office.
Your parent/guardian will need to contact Freedom Tech (https://freedomtech.co.uk/help/) to arrange for it to be fixed.
