Mr C. Minion, House Co-ordinator, writes:
On the last Thursday of term Stanborough Music Department held the annual House Music Competition. Each House performs three pieces, an instrumental, a vocal and a free choice. The House who scores the best in all three sections walks away with the coveted Dominic Caswell Trophy.
In the instrumental section we had pieces ranging from Brocket’s Shake Your Tail Feather to Offley’s Lemon written by House Captain Katarina Krajnovic and Knebworth’s Stringer’s Symphony No 1 penned by Alfie Kerr and Will Stringer.
The Choral pieces featured Sopwell’s Oh My Love by The Score and Hatfield’s When I Grow Up from Matilda and the show stopping free choice section started with Elbow’s One Day Like This by Offley and concluded with a magnificent Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Hatfield.
It was, once again, a fantastic evening show casing the talent we have at Stanborough. In between each section we had performances from The Uber Choir and Band, the Concert Orchestra and Senior Choir.
A huge well done to Mrs Jackson and Mr Craig for their dedication in putting events like this on, and to The House Captains and all the performers who made the night so special.
