Music Scholarship
The Music Scholarship is awarded to the student who regularly makes a very significant contribution to the music department and acts as an inspiration and role model to the next generation of students. The student receives a trophy and free instrumental or vocal lessons for the academic year. In the year of their scholarship the expectation of them is that, in addition to continuing to support the department and develop their own musicality, they will lead an extra-curricular activity and/or compose a piece to be performed in a concert by a school ensemble

Congratulations to all students who received awards on the night. It was a lovely evening with vice chair of Governors, Andy Beale, and ex-student Rhys Jose as guest of honour. Rhys was head boy at Stanborough two years ago and has since had a very exciting career working at Westminster. He is currently an Assistant Private Secretary to a Cabinet Minister and has an extremely varied and interesting role looking after all aspects of the Cabinet Minister’s day. Rhys was a student at Stanborough for seven years and spoke to the students about the highs and lows of his time at Stanborough. He spoke passionately about the importance of believing in yourself and not listening to what others might say. He also spoke about how he had worked hard to get where he is today, always asking for help from teachers and pushing himself. Rhys’s advice was both heartfelt and inspirational and students, staff and parents were all moved by his speech.
