Raising Girls’ Aspirations at Stanborough
Mrs J Adams, Life Skills Leader/Careers, writes:
Sunday 8th March marked International Women’s day and in order to celebrate this at Stanborough we had our very own aspirations event. 30 women from local businesses volunteered to spend two hours talking to our Year 8 and 9 girls. Using a speed dating style, students were able to spend ten minutes talking to women with careers varying from IT, Bio Chemistry, Meter Installing, HR, Nursing, Engineering, Politics and Teaching. The aim of the event was to inspire students to think about all the different careers that are available and the choices they may make in the future.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank PayPoint for their continued support and Mrs James for kindly supporting the event.
