Welwyn Garden City Photography Competition – Prize Giving Ceremony
Miss A. Barnard, Subject Leader: Art, writes:
Welwyn Garden City celebrates its 100th birthday in 2020 and the Schools photography competitions in 2017 and 2018 have been the first events of the centenary celebrations to take place. With a new and exciting theme set each year the competition will continue up until 2020. With over 19 schools and 350 photography entries this year, Stanborough School had 6 winning students out of the 18 awards presented. At the Prize Giving event on the 5th July, students received a mounted print of their winning photograph, a trophy and a money voucher, all presented by the mayor and the WGC photographic club. The photographs will go on exhibition in the Maynard Gallery from 2nd September 2018 and form part of a larger exhibition in the final celebration in 2020.
