The Bank of England’s Executive Director Inspires Finance Students
Mrs C. Ramsamy, Business & Finance Leader writes:
Chris Salmon from the Bank of England inspired our Year 12 & 13 finance students when he visited at the end of April. Chris discussed his own career path based on his varied roles within the Bank of England. Chris also helped our students bring finance to life by discussing monetary and financial stability, he also spoke about how they provide a risk free banking service for the government and other central banks and much more.
Our finance students were captivated and stated:
‘Chris Salmon’s talk gave a real insight into what it is like working for the Bank of England and the role that the Bank has in our economy. It was interesting learning the many roles of the Bank and the types of responsibilities it has as well as seeing the topics we have learnt in lessons applied in real life. It was fascinating seeing the types of jobs that are available in finance and also being able to ask questions to someone who has profound knowledge & experience of the financial system.’ Caitlin Watts 12/13A
‘The talk complimented business, economics and finance. From a finance perspective it helped in linking money flow and quantitative easing to economic growth and inflation rates.’ Kevin Hannah 12/13K
